Take Time to Stop and Smell the {Tulips}

Thriving since the 1980s and earning international acclaim, the Columbia Road Flower Market makes for a colorful and exhilarating experience on a Sunday in London. My friend Victoria and I made our way through the populous place to stop and smell the ranunculus, tulips, hyacinth, lisianthus, narcissus, amaryllis, anenomes (my very favorite), and loads of others. The scene is exciting, kind of like the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. While your eyes are examining the vibrant stalls and your nose is drawing in the fresh air and sweet scents, your ears are enjoying a little laugh with the cacophony of the “barrow boys” touting their deals. Get your “fivers” ready, because just about everything is “two for a fiver!”

Here’s a little peek at what we saw yesterday…

{there are 60 independent shops on this block, built back in the 1860s}

{victoria and i each came home with a bundle of lovely anenomes. two for a fiver!}

If you ever have a chance to visit this splendid market, I am confident you’ll be dazzled!

Hope you have a fantastic week!

Love from London,

P.S. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked up and saw this darling shop there…

…does everyone remember Aimee’s Valentine’s Day card blog from Tuesday?!

Yeah! I just couldn’t believe it; I knew there was a storefront in London (a la Aimee) but didn’t expect to stumble upon it so easily! It was (of course) unbelievably cute inside. You can see more at Rob Ryan’s Etsy store or on their blog.
